How to win the jungle race as Ekko against Kha'Zix · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
Read from Ekko's seat: the race windows this plan plays for against Kha'Zix.
| Stage | Read | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 Clear | Respect Kha'Zix | At level 1 this window belongs to Kha'Zix: isolation-bonus Taste Their Fear chunks anyone who face-checks alone, and the isolation bonus on Taste Their Fear hits like a truck whenever you're caught alone. Stay near camps or minions to deny the isolation bonus — it halves his damage. Skip the level-1 crossing and bank tempo on the opposite side of the map. |
| Level 2 Skirmish | Respect Kha'Zix | The isolation bonus on Taste Their Fear hits like a truck whenever you're caught alone — Ekko has no answer to that at level 2. Void Spike's heal-poke wins the slow trade war at river entrances on their half of the map too, so refuse the level-2 skirmish and answer the pressure cross-map. |
| Level 3 Route | Respect Kha'Zix | Iso Q damage at level 3 already deletes squishier junglers caught solo, and Ekko has no clean answer to it at the opening scuttle — the isolation bonus on Taste Their Fear hits like a truck whenever you're caught alone. Stay near camps or minions to deny the isolation bonus — it halves his damage, and give up the first scuttle rather than the kill. |
| Levels 4-5 Macro | Respect Kha'Zix — Path Opposite | Levels 4-5 still belong to Kha'Zix in a straight fight — farm the opposite side, answer their ganks cross-map, and wait for your spike. |
| Level 6 Breakpoint | Even Ult Window | Neither ultimate cleanly beats the other — evolved isolation damage deletes you the moment you are caught alone, but Chronobreak insures every dive — commit, nuke, rewind out. The breakpoint goes to whoever reaches it first with an objective on the map. |
| First Item Spike | Lich Bane Spike | Completing your core item scales your Phase Dive auto-attacks into devastating burst chunks that instantly threaten squishy targets. Your clear velocity scales dramatically, allowing you to instantly clear out camps before executing high-impact side-lane transitions. Use this damage spike to actively hunt down isolated targets inside the river grid. Kha'Zix's first item plus the first evolution is the spike — an isolated squishy stops surviving the opener. |
| 2+ Items Scaling | Ekko Favoured at Full Build | Full-build math leans your way: extended fights and side-lane duels favor you over Kha'Zix — make late fights about 1v1s, not coin-flips. |
Start your clear at Blue Buff to optimize early ability haste cycling before running through your multi-monster camps toward the lower scuttle. Track Kha'Zix's initial lane arrivals to verify if they are mirroring your pathing or executing an opposite-side clear away from your path. Kha'Zix clears well with Void Spike healing him through it, and he reaches three without spending much health.
