How to win lane as Singed against Graves · 51.02% win rate over 3,226 Emerald+ games · Updated 2026-07-27
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Even / skill | Neither champion wants the level-1 all-in — but Graves's shotgun passive armor and point-blank burst beat your Poison Trail damage before you have AP to back it up. |
| Level 2 | Graves | Graves's Quickdraw dash plus Smoke Screen blind lands at level 2 and he can dash in, burst, and disengage before your Mega Adhesive root animation completes. |
| Level 3 | Graves | All three of Graves's damaging tools are online and your W-E-fling combo still requires him to waste Quickdraw into your glue zone first — he has no reason to do that yet. |
| Levels 4-5 | Graves | Graves is farming his way to a power spike and can dash back every time you try to proxy aggressively — his burst is too high to trade into without Rylai's to keep him in the cloud. |
| Level 6 | Graves | Collateral Damage wins the raw burst race against Insanity Potion in the immediate 6-6 all-in — use R to survive his ult window rather than to initiate, and proxy the XP lead instead. |
| First item | Graves | Graves finishes his first crit or lethality item here and his burst is at its highest relative to your tankiness — this is his last clean window before Rylai's arrives and rewrites the trade math. |
| Two+ items | Singed | Rylai's Crystal Scepter means Poison Trail permanently keeps Graves inside the slow, Mega Adhesive roots any Quickdraw he burns toward you, and Fling turns the landing spot into a kill zone — the proxy is now genuinely uncatchable. |
Level 1 is genuinely even only in the sense that neither of you wants the full commit — but Graves wins any trade you initiate because his shotgun burst and passive armor stacks out-damage early Poison Trail before you have AP. Stay out of his auto range, let the wave push slightly toward you, and do not Fling into his pattern: a Quickdraw dash behind you punishes the cooldown immediately. Your only real tool at level 1 is threatening the proxy — if he zones you off wave, run behind it and collect free XP and gold while he has to choose between stopping you and freezing. At levels 2-3 his Smoke Screen goes down and blind + burst becomes a lane kill threat. Never run at him in a straight line: his blind shuts off your auto-damage and his shotgun does real burst even through the early armor you lack. Your W-root fling combo can punish an overextended dash, but he has to waste Quickdraw into your glue zone first — at level 2-3 he rarely does. Absorb the poke and start learning his Quickdraw rhythm.
