How to win lane as Sejuani against Tryndamere · 46.15% win rate over 117 Emerald+ games · Updated 2026-07-27
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Tryndamere | Tryndamere starts fights with Fury from passive crits and his Q damage is already threatening — you have no reliable engage and no CC to interrupt his first trade pattern. |
| Level 2 | Tryndamere | Spinning Slash lets him close instantly when your Q is unavailable, so you lose any attempt to Q-engage; farm safely under your Winter's Wrath range. |
| Level 3 | Tryndamere | His full kit is online and he wins the Q-W-E Frost chain trade because Spinning Slash threads through your knockup and crits convert the damage lead. |
| Levels 4-5 | Tryndamere | No meaningful power spike for you at 4-5 while his crit damage climbs; respect Spinning Slash range and keep the wave frozen so he cannot all-in without jungler vision. |
| Level 6 | Sejuani | Glacial Prison gives you a ranged CC projectile that outranges Spinning Slash and can lock him out of his Undying Rage window — first moment you can dictate the fight. |
| First item | Sejuani | Sunfire Aegis raises your contact damage and HP buffer past the point his spin-kite pattern can chunk you, and Undying Rage is on a 110s cooldown you can track and punish. |
| Two+ items | Even / skill | Both of you have late-game tools — your CC chain decides teamfights, but his Undying Rage means any 1v1 execution attempt without team follow-up is a coin flip. |
He owns levels 1 through 5 and there is no path around it — his Spinning Slash closes any gap instantly, his passive Fury stacks give every crit trade more damage than your Frost chain can answer, and he can simply use Spinning Slash to walk away if the trade turns bad. Do not try to Q into him; he will spin through the knockup window and start a crit trade you will lose. Farm with the tip of your W range, let him push, and absorb poke with Second Wind. The only Frost-chain trade worth taking before level 3 is if he wastes Spinning Slash on the wave and you can walk up, auto-auto-W-E with full stacks, then Q out before he re-engages.
