Favour timeline — who owns each window

StageFavouredWhy
Level 1Even / skillLevel 1 is a genuine coin flip — neither Beartrap nor your W stun is online yet, and Q-auto trading is equally available to both sides.
Level 2KledKled's Beartrap on a Rope is live and outranges your engage; a landed hook into Violent Tendencies and mounted Q3 is more damage than your Level 2 W all-in can return.
Level 3KledHis full mounted kit plus Skaarl's second HP pool means he survives your complete Q-W-Q combo and re-trades through dismount — you cannot finish what you start.
Levels 4-5Even / skillWith Beartrap on a long cooldown between rotations the lane becomes a step-in-step-out contest that neither side cleanly wins; farm safely and track the cooldown.
Level 6Even / skillBoth ultimates arrive together and Chaaaaarge! gives Kled free repositioning after you spend E; neither side holds a decisive edge, but your Wind Slash execute begins to matter.
First itemEven / skillYour Immortal Shieldbow spike absorbs the Beartrap burst and sustains through the mounted combo; force a fight the moment it completes and before he gets his own first item.
Two+ itemsRivenAt two items your Q chain and W lockdown shred Skaarl and finish Kled through remount; his front-loaded kit cannot keep pace with your compounding item power.

Early game (levels 1–5)

At Level 1 neither kit has a decisive edge — trade Q autos to chip but do not overextend before your W stun is available. The lane turns dangerous the moment Kled hits Level 2: Beartrap on a Rope is his entire threat. It outranges your Q and if it connects while you are mid-dash he chains it into Violent Tendencies and mounted Q3, which is a full health bar of damage before you can E out. Respect the hook hard in levels 2 and 3 — sidestep it with a Q direction-change, never walk straight at him. Your own Level 3 spike matters here but so does his: with his full kit he is a faster all-in than you at this stage because his Skaarl bar effectively gives him two HP pools. Hold your E as a shield to absorb a trade rather than closing distance, and only commit the full Q-W-Q pattern when Beartrap is visibly on cooldown.
