Garen's Q silence is a hard counter to your kit at levels one through three — if he lands it mid Q-chain it cancels the cast, strips your passive charge, and he disengages while his passive regen erases whatever you dealt. Do not all-in before his Q is on cooldown; instead poke with the tip of Q1 to fish for his Q cooldown without committing your W. If you burn E to trade and he pops W immediately, your burst window shrinks to almost nothing — his damage reduction eats your combo and you lose the trade. Farm through it, look for the rare window where you see his Q animation whiff or he uses it to last-hit, then punish hard with the full rotation before he can regen out.
