How to win lane as Renekton against Yone · 53.27% win rate over 5,521 Emerald+ games · Updated 2026-07-27
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Renekton | Yone has no dash at level 1 and his Q is not yet available — but his passive shield and auto attack pattern win a drawn-out level-1 fight, so set up Fury from safe range and do not over-commit. |
| Level 2 | Renekton | E-in and empowered W lands before Yone's Q3 return fires, cancelling the knockup burst — this is the single most important trade skill in the matchup. |
| Level 3 | Renekton | Full kit with empowered E armor shred means every trade chips faster than his Spirit shield recovers; keep the wave slow-pushing so he must CS under your engage threat. |
| Levels 4-5 | Renekton | He has no power spike between 4-5 and you do — force empowered-W all-ins whenever he steps up to last-hit and bank a health lead you can convert at 6. |
| Level 6 | Renekton | Dominus HP buffer plus accelerated Fury lets you chain two empowered Ws; if Shieldbow passive triggers, back off three seconds and re-engage — your R outlasts the shield. |
| First item | Renekton | Sundered Sky or Stride Breaker first item extends your bully pattern through his Shieldbow/Kraken spike; you still all-in cleanly if you land W before his Q3 lands. |
| Two+ items | Even / skill | Kraken Slayer percent-HP shred and Wit's End eat your R buffer in extended fights — close the game through objectives and side-lane rather than front-lining into him in teamfights. |
At level 1 Yone actually wins a prolonged auto-trade because his Q dash lets him sidestep your hitbox and his passive Spirit of Defiance gives him a small shield — farm safely, set up Fury, and do not flash-trade. The moment you hit level 2 the matchup flips: E-in through Yone, immediately spend your banked Fury on empowered W. The 1.5-second stun cancels his Q3 return strike — the single hit that deals the bulk of his Q damage — so you absorb almost nothing while he eats your Q-heal on top of the stun. If he starts E he can soul-rewind out, but that burns his escape on a trade where he is already losing health, which is a fine trade for you. By level 3, with armor-shred on your empowered E return dash, every exchange chips his health bar faster than his Spirit shield regenerates it; keep the wave on your side of the river so he cannot E-escape into fog.
