At level 1 neither of you has reliable damage — Shen's Ki Barrier shield absorbs your first auto, so accept farm and identify whether he is playing to poke or to level-2 taunt. At level 2 you spike harder than he does: E in, empower your W before he pops Spirit's Refuge, and Q-heal to erase the return trade. The key read is his W timing — if you see the auto-block zone appear around him, immediately stop your combo and disengage; your stun hits but the healing autos in the empowered 3-hit chain all whiff. At level 3 your full kit lets you control the trade length, but respect Shadow Dash: if you E in and he E-taunts you back toward his side of the wave, you lose the disengage and eat a longer trade on his terms.
