How to win lane as Ornn against Akshan · 51.54% win rate (1,269 Emerald+ games, lolalytics, sampled July 2026) · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
Weather the poke — brittle-proc him on the Heroic Swing cooldown and out-item the lane.
Track: Akshan's E — Heroic Swing (18–12s cooldown). His dash + camera swing escape. Engage when it's down.
Read from Ornn's seat: which stage windows this plan plays for against Akshan.
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Even / skill | Akshan is a ranged poke skirmisher and I have no shield or combo at 1 — but he can't all-in me either, so we just trade farm. |
| Level 2 | Even / skill | He pokes me down with Q and W from outside my range while I have no W to answer yet. |
| Level 3 | Ornn | Even with W online he grapples out of my E-Q on his E, kiting my percent-HP exhale before I can land Brittle. |
| Levels 4-5 | Ornn | His Q/W poke chips me faster than I can punish, and his E spacing denies my E-into-pillar knock-up. |
| Level 6 | Akshan | His own kit threatens me through 6 — if he sidesteps my R-E-Q he just resets and pokes, and his roam pressure off camouflage hurts more than my ult. |
| First item | Ornn | His first-item poke and waveclear let him keep me on the back foot and roam with his revive passive while I farm. |
| Two+ items | Ornn | At 13 my free Masterwork upgrades and W shield make me the durable teamfight anchor his single-target poke can't kill, and my E-Q-R locks him down. |
Levels 1-2 are miserable for me here — I have no shield, no combo, and I'm mana-starved while Akshan pokes me with Q and W from range I can't answer. Don't walk up to trade; last-hit at the tip of my Q and accept the chip. Once I hit 3 and have W, I can finally exhale percent-HP back at him and shield an all-in, but he just grapples out on E and keeps kiting.
