How to win lane as Ornn against Aatrox · 53.44% win rate over 2,947 Emerald+ games · Updated 2026-07-27
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Even / skill | He has no level-1 threat without his combo, but neither do I with no shield or mana — we both just last-hit and set the wave. |
| Level 2 | Even / skill | His sweetspot Q isn't online yet and my W still doesn't exist, so it stays a farming standoff where neither of us can commit. |
| Level 3 | Aatrox | At 3 his sweetspot-Q knockup into W chain-pull and passive heal out-trade me before my Bellows Breath shield is up to answer it. |
| Levels 4-5 | Even / skill | A second combo point lets me E into a Q-pillar for a Brittle knock-up, so trades go even once I can punish his whiffed Q. |
| Level 6 | Ornn | My R double knock-up wins the all-in outright — his R combat steroid does nothing while he's airborne in my elemental. |
| First item | Ornn | My Heartsteel/Sunfire spike makes me tank his drain trades while W chunks him with percent-HP Brittle. |
| Two+ items | Ornn | Master Craftsman Masterwork upgrades hand my whole team an effective gold lead that drowns out his single-target duel. |
Levels 1 and 2 are rough for both of us — I have no shield, no combo, and I'm mana-starved, while his sweetspot Q and chain-pull aren't fully threatening yet either, so I just farm with the head of my Q line and don't step into his W pull. Level 3 is his window, not mine: once he has Q-W-E he can sweetspot-knockup into a W chain-pull and drain a big chunk before my W (Bellows Breath) exists to shield it. Hold the wave, take CS at max range, and don't contest a trade until I have W's unstoppable percent-HP poke to answer his passive heal.
