How to win lane as Nasus against Jayce · 53.03% win rate over 677 Emerald+ games · Updated 2026-07-27
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Even / skill | Both of us are weak at Level 1 with no gate and no Q stacks, so a single Cannon-Q poke war is a coinflip on who lands first. |
| Level 2 | Jayce | His E unlocks Acceleration Gate, so Shock Blast becomes a long-range gated orb and the cannon swap shreds my Armor as I step up to stack Q, handing him a free trade. |
| Level 3 | Jayce | With his full combo online his gate-Q into Hammer Q-E-W bursts me while I have no Wither and not enough stacks to punish back, his hardest window. |
| Levels 4-5 | Even / skill | I now have a stack count and Wither, and the moment that slow kills his swap move speed the poke war flattens to even trades. |
| Level 6 | Even / skill | His R is only the stance-swap he already had, so 6 is a non-spike for him while my Fury of the Sands adds lifesteal, size and resists that pull the lane back to even. |
| First item | Nasus | By my first item my rising armor and stacks start eating the gated Shock Blast, and Soul Eater lifesteal heals the poke off, tipping the trade math my way. |
| Two+ items | Nasus | At 2+ items my stacked Q chunks his defenseless frame and R makes me too tanky to burst, while one Wither locks him down, so the lane is mine to close. |
Levels 1-3 belong to Jayce and I just have to eat it. At Level 1 he only has one Cannon-Q, so I soak my Q farm and accept the poke while we're both weak. It gets worse at 2-3 when his E Acceleration Gate unlocks: a gated Shock Blast chunks me at full range, and his first hit after a cannon-to-hammer swap shreds my Armor every single time I walk up for a stack. Don't overcommit to a stack on a freezing wave or his E Thundering Blow knocks me off it and I lose the stack AND the XP. Last-hit with the tip of Q, take the poke, and trust that Soul Eater heals it.
