Build MR — turret-poke, E-stun his hook.
Track: Nautilus's Q — Dredge Line (14–10s cooldown). His only engage. E-stun/dodge it.
Read from Heimerdinger's seat: which stage windows this plan plays for against Nautilus.
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Even / skill | Naut has no early burst and you have no kill on a tank — it's an even CS race until your nest comes up, just stay off his single Q hook line. |
| Level 2 | Even / skill | Still even: his passive auto-root hurts if he reaches you, but he can't commit without the wave, so trade beam chip for his pushes. |
| Level 3 | Heimerdinger | Your second turret plus stacked slowing beams walls off the wave — he eats beam fire on every last-hit while you take none. |
| Levels 4-5 | Heimerdinger | Three banked charges plus the CH-3X center-stun make any hook-in suicidal: he can't all-in through the grenade and full nest DPS. |
| Level 6 | Even / skill | His R knockup into a Q hook is a full CC lock on a dashless yordle, so 6 flips the lane the moment his jungler arrives. |
| First item | Even / skill | Your super-turret and grenade still own the siege and zone him off CS — you keep the architecture war against a tank. |
| Two+ items | Even / skill | Tank HP and resists let him shrug off your beams, so you out-siege but never out-kill him — it lands back at even. |
Nautilus can't kill you early — he's a tank with no burst and only one gap-closer — but you can't kill him either, so the first three levels are a CS race you slightly win once turrets come online. The one thing that ends you is his Q: a landed hook drags you out of the nest and onto his passive auto-root, so never sit in the hook line to last-hit — hug your turrets and let the beams chip him. By level 3 a second H-28G turret plus the stacked slows means he has to wade through beam fire just to farm, which is exactly the tax you want.
