Akshan is one of the few ranged tops with an actually weak early — at levels 1-2 he has only one Heroic Swing charge, so he can't kite far and that's your cleanest window. Step up with a Q snip and E in for a quick on-hit before he can chip you with Avengerang, then back out — your passive %-HP autos chunk even his low HP bar fast. The problem starts once his Swing comes online: he'll grapple back over a wall whenever you commit, and his Avengerang out-ranges everything you have until you're in melee. Don't shove into his minions chasing a Q he can just walk around — last-hit safe and accept you're behind until 6.
