From level 2 on his Avengerang (Q) boomerangs through you for free poke, and Heroic Swing (E) lets him grapple out the instant you wind up Justice Punch, so your dash hits air. Don't throw E to chase — last-hit with the center column of Winds of War (Q) at range and eat the poke; you have no way to run him down on foot.
