Akshan is a problem the second he has range. At level 1 you actually win the bump trade, so step up only if he's standing in his own minions and land your Colossal Smash empowered auto — that area-of-effect proc is the one clean trade you get before his kit comes online. From level 2 on his Avengerang (Q) boomerangs through you for free poke, and Heroic Swing (E) lets him grapple out the instant you wind up Justice Punch, so your dash hits air. Don't throw E to chase — last-hit with the center column of Winds of War (Q) at range and eat the poke; you have no way to run him down on foot.
