How to win lane as Akali against Yone · 54.76% win rate over 5,540 Emerald+ games · Updated 2026-07-27
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Even / skill | Yone is even at level 1, but so are you with only Q — last-hit at range and don't burn energy chasing a Q he dashes through. |
| Level 2 | Even / skill | He has his Q dash and the start of his Q-W combo; you still lack Shroud, so trade only when his empowered third Q is down. |
| Level 3 | Akali | With all three basics, Shroud comes online — you reset any trade he opens and his Spirit Cleave whiffs into untargetable smoke. |
| Levels 4-5 | Akali | You out-trade a pre-item Yone: bait Soul Unbound, Shroud his commit, and punish the dashless window while he's powerless. |
| Level 6 | Akali | R + E runs him down — dash through, then execute off missing HP before Soul Unbound rewinds his soul to the cast point. |
| First item | Akali | Your Lich Bane spike out-bursts his first item — force every all-in here while his E is on cooldown. |
| Two+ items | Yone | He out-scales: a 2-item Yone kites with Q-spacing, shields your burst with Spirit Cleave, and Fate Sealed interrupts your Shroud — play for picks, not the duel. |
Levels 1-3 are a farm-and-respect phase — you have no Shroud yet, so don't walk into Mortal Steel (Q) range to throw a Five Point Strike he can simply dash through on his third Q. Last-hit at max Q range and take the chip; his early is even, not dominant, and his Q poke can't out-damage your eventual passive sustain. The one thing to fear is his empowered third-Q dash into a Spirit Cleave when you're low on energy — keep your back to your minions so he can't isolate you off the wave.
