How to win lane as Akali against Brand · 54.02% win rate over 1,929 Emerald+ games · Updated 2026-07-27
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Akali | Akali: Brand has no dash or CC at level 1, so trading into his skillshots with minion cover already favors Akali. |
| Level 2 | Akali | Akali: at level 2 Akali's second ability adds mobility/poke Brand cannot answer without landing skillshots first. |
| Level 3 | Akali | Akali: by level 3 Akali's full combo threatens an all-in that Brand has no tool to escape. |
| Levels 4-5 | Akali | Akali: levels 4-5 widen the gap further as Akali's damage and mobility scale faster than Brand's poke value in lane. |
| Level 6 | Akali | Akali: Akali's ultimate is a hard engage/execute that punishes Brand's complete lack of self-peel. |
| First item | Akali | Akali: first item burst lets Akali one-combo Brand before his passive stacks or allies arrive. |
| Two+ items | Akali | Akali: late game Brand gains teamfight relevance but is still helpless 1v1 against a diving assassin. |
Brand's kit is entirely skillshots with zero dash — if you play behind minions and only step up to trade after he commits Q, you take almost no damage. Use W (Twilight Shroud) to break vision right before you engage so his Q/E can't be aimed at you. He has no way to disengage once you're on top of him, so any all-in from level 3 onward with E-Q-AA is heavily favored. Just respect his passive stacking on you if you facetank too many pokes early.
