How to win the jungle race as Rengar against Elise · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
Read from Rengar's seat: the race windows this plan plays for against Elise.
| Stage | Read | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 Clear | Rengar Favoured | A brush-side Savagery leap is the hardest level-1 opener in the jungle, but human-form poke is real but the kill threat isn't online yet. You still win the straight exchange at the first buff; keep it short, keep it decisive, and keep the scuttle line yours. |
| Level 2 Skirmish | Rengar Favoured | Battle Roar's heal plus ferocity stacking wins extended buff fights. Elise can make it awkward — Cocoon into spider-form burst plus Rappel untargetability wins the level-3 window outright — but not with one camp still up on both sides. Trade, then walk away with the second buff and the tempo that comes with it. |
| Level 3 Route | Respect Elise | The window at the opening scuttle belongs to Elise: the famous level-3 spike: Cocoon, Rappel, full spider burst — the strongest duel window in the game. Your own line is real — a 4-ferocity empowered Q already one-shots squishier junglers near any bush — but it arrives second here. Sidestep the Cocoon and her whole pattern fails — track her, don't coin-flip the stun, then give up the level-3 river fight. |
| Levels 4-5 Macro | Even — Farm & Track | Neither of you owns 4-5. Since this is her strongest stretch — 4-5 is a Cocoon-hunting window and every gank is worth more than a camp, decide this window on vision and objective timers rather than on a duel. |
| Level 6 Breakpoint | Thrill of the Hunt Favoured | Thrill of the Hunt opens every fight with an unanswerable stealth leap. Cocoon picks plus Rappel untargetability still cash in any mis-step — respect that one window, but the six-spike comparison favors you: take the post-6 duel whenever HP bars start even. |
| First Item Spike | Profane Hydra Spike | Completing your core item triggers a massive physical damage and burst multiplier that completely overpowers traditional brawlers or assassin targets. Elise's first item keeps the spider-form burst relevant a while longer, but it is the last window where it one-shots. |
| 2+ Items Scaling | Rengar Favoured — Wins Late | The late game is yours. Remember what Elise still is at full build — she falls off — the Cocoon pick still lands but the follow-up no longer kills — and take the fights that do not let it matter. |
Start your clear at the Red Buff camp to maximize early health retention via W heal loops before executing a fast full clear straight into an aggressive scuttle crab contest. Elise clears well off spiderlings and human-form poke, and she is one of the healthiest junglers on the map at three.
