How to win the jungle race as Nocturne against Sejuani · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
Read from Nocturne's seat: the race windows this plan plays for against Sejuani.
| Stage | Read | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 Clear | Nocturne Favoured | Umbra Blades' AoE sustain clears fast and wins the raptor-pit brawl, but Arctic Assault is engage utility, not duel damage. You still win the straight exchange at the first buff; keep it short, keep it decisive, and keep the scuttle line yours. |
| Level 2 Skirmish | Nocturne Favoured | Duskbringer's trail damage plus speed wins straight-line trades. Sejuani can make it awkward — the Arctic Assault knock-up into a Permafrost stun chains you into her gank follow-up — but not with one camp still up on both sides. Trade, then walk away with the second buff and the tempo that comes with it. |
| Level 3 Route | Nocturne Favoured | The fear-tether threat tilts every river skirmish in your favor. The margin is thin: Arctic Assault is engage utility, not duel damage, and one slow camp on your side hands the window straight back, so keep the trade short. She can't duel without the stun chain — dodge the Q engage and trade freely. |
| Levels 4-5 Macro | Nocturne Favoured — Take Duels | The 4-5 window is yours if you pick it: she uses 4-5 to set up Permafrost ganks with a laner, since her own damage is not the threat. Track that pattern, arrive one camp early, and take the fight before the follow-up shows. |
| Level 6 Breakpoint | Paranoia Favoured | Paranoia removes their map and delivers you to any duel you have already chunked. Glacial Prison turns any pick into a team kill, so the margin is real but narrow: fight when your ultimate is up and Glacial Prison is the one on cooldown. |
| First Item Spike | Eclipse / Hexplate Spike | Completing your core item triggers a massive physical damage and burst multiplier that completely overpowers traditional brawlers or assassin targets. Sejuani's first item is a durability spike — she does not start killing you, she starts being impossible to remove. |
| 2+ Items Scaling | Nocturne Favoured at Full Build | Two items on, the edge is yours. The one thing to plan around is that she is unkillable frontline with a cross-map stun that starts every fight — take that away and the fight is a formality. |
Start your clear at the Red Buff camp to maximize early health retention via passive lifesteal loops before executing a fast full clear straight into an aggressive scuttle crab contest. Sejuani clears steadily with Winter's Wrath and Fury of the North keeps her health high, so she paths without recalling.
