How to win the jungle race as Gragas against Sejuani · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
Read from Gragas's seat: the race windows this plan plays for against Sejuani.
| Stage | Read | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 Clear | Gragas Favoured | Barrel Roll poke plus passive sustain wins the slow first trade. Sejuani can make it awkward — the Arctic Assault knock-up into a Permafrost stun chains you into her gank follow-up — but not before either of you has a second camp down. Trade, then walk away with a camp and a chunk of their health bar. |
| Level 2 Skirmish | Gragas Favoured | Drunken Rage damage reduction makes your short trades strictly efficient. The margin is thin: Permafrost trades are workable but they don't out-damage real duelists yet, and one slow camp on your side hands the window straight back, so keep the trade short. She can't duel without the stun chain — dodge the Q engage and trade freely. |
| Level 3 Route | Gragas Favoured | The Body Slam stun engage completes a surprisingly strong early brawl kit. Arctic Assault is engage utility, not duel damage, so this is an edge and not a blowout — take the level-3 river fight only with the HP and cooldown lead. |
| Levels 4-5 Macro | Even — Farm & Track | Even through 4-5. She uses 4-5 to set up Permafrost ganks with a laner, since her own damage is not the threat, so mirror it: farm the same tempo, ward the same crossings, and take the fight only with numbers. |
| Level 6 Breakpoint | Respect Sejuani's R | Sejuani wins the breakpoint outright — Glacial Prison turns any pick into a team kill, and a cross-map Glacial Prison stun starts a fight you cannot refuse. The projectile is dodgeable — strafe the cast and her engage evaporates, then trade objectives cross-map until your items land. |
| First Item Spike | Tank Item Spike | First tank item online, your trades become rude: drink, slam, barrel, and walk away healthier than the exchange deserved. Camp clears speed up enough to full-clear into every objective spawn. Force river fights where the cask has walls to play with. Sejuani's first item is a durability spike — she does not start killing you, she starts being impossible to remove. |
| 2+ Items Scaling | Even Scaling — Prep Decides | Neither of you out-scales the other. She is unkillable frontline with a cross-map stun that starts every fight, so the late game is decided by who starts the fight, not who wins the stat sheet. |
Start either buff and lean on Q-W sustain — you need no leash and end healthy. Watch Sejuani's entry side from leashes; you can shade toward them for a level-3 slam ambush if their clear runs low. Sejuani clears steadily with Winter's Wrath and Fury of the North keeps her health high, so she paths without recalling.

Not exactly — Gragas's race plan controls 4 of the 7 windows, so Sejuani is playing catch-up and has to lean on the map.
