How to win the jungle race as Ekko against Talon · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
Read from Ekko's seat: the race windows this plan plays for against Talon.
| Stage | Read | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 Clear | Respect Talon | At level 1 this window belongs to Talon: the Noxian Diplomacy bleed wins short trades at shared entrances, and the Q-W bleed burst plus wall-hop angles start fights you never saw coming. Ward the over-wall paths — his burst needs surprise to actually finish the job. Skip the level-1 crossing and bank tempo on the opposite side of the map. |
| Level 2 Skirmish | Respect Talon | The Q-W bleed burst plus wall-hop angles start fights you never saw coming — Ekko has no answer to that at level 2. Rake's return damage makes mid-range poke trades free for them on their half of the map too, so refuse the level-2 skirmish and answer the pressure cross-map. |
| Level 3 Route | Respect Talon | Wall-hop pathing means they only pick fights when the numbers favor them, and Ekko has no clean answer to it at the opening scuttle — the Q-W bleed burst plus wall-hop angles start fights you never saw coming. Ward the over-wall paths — his burst needs surprise to actually finish the job, and give up the first scuttle rather than the kill. |
| Levels 4-5 Macro | Even — Farm & Track | Neither of you owns 4-5. Since he wall-hops through 4-5 into lanes that have pushed, and the Rake slow closes every remaining gap, decide this window on vision and objective timers rather than on a duel. |
| Level 6 Breakpoint | Chronobreak Favoured | Chronobreak insures every dive — commit, nuke, rewind out, while Shadow Assault stealth plus converging blades burst anyone they touch. You win the breakpoint against Talon, not the whole game — cash it on the first objective after both sides hit six. |
| First Item Spike | Lich Bane Spike | Completing your core item scales your Phase Dive auto-attacks into devastating burst chunks that instantly threaten squishy targets. Your clear velocity scales dramatically, allowing you to instantly clear out camps before executing high-impact side-lane transitions. Use this damage spike to actively hunt down isolated targets inside the river grid. Talon's first item is the point where the bleed rotation goes from a heavy chunk to a full kill on a squishy. |
| 2+ Items Scaling | Ekko Favoured — Wins Late | The late game is yours. Remember what Talon still is at full build — he removes an isolated carry and leaves over a wall before anyone reacts — and take the fights that do not let it matter. |
Start your clear path at the Blue Buff node to optimize early ability haste cycling before running through your multi-monster camps toward the lower scuttle. Track Talon's initial lane arrivals to verify if they are mirroring your lane pathing or executing an opposite side clear away from your path. Talon clears fast with Rake and Noxian Diplomacy bleeds, and the wall-hops mean his path is shorter than yours.
