How to win lane as Sivir against Varus · 54.2% win rate (3,733 Emerald+ games, lolalytics, sampled July 2026) · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
A utility mirror your shield referees — eat his trick with E and bill the refund in boomerangs.
Track: Varus's R — Chain of Corruption (100–60s cooldown). The spreading root starts dives — stand apart from allies when it flies.

This is Sivir's own plan; across 3,733 pooled games the lane is leaning Sivir.
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Varus | Varus's charged Q out-ranges and out-pokes you at level 1. |
| Level 2 | Varus | At 2 his Q poke and W Blight keep punishing your farm. |
| Level 3 | Varus | Level 3 W-detonate trades give Varus the winning poke war. |
| Levels 4-5 | Varus | Through 4-5 his range and Blight burst keep him ahead. |
| Level 6 | Varus | At 6 his R root and stacked all-in dominate the fight. |
| First item | Varus | At one item Varus's Q and detonate still out-range your trade. |
| Two+ items | Sivir | With 2+ items your crit cleave and speed finally out-DPS his poke. |
Varus out-ranges and out-pokes you levels 1-5: his charged Q hits from beyond your autos and W-stacked Blight detonates for heavy trades. Farm behind minions so his Q can't land clean, and save Spell Shield for a charged Q or his R rather than chip damage. His charged arrow reaches past everything you own, so farm behind minions and take the wave rather than the poke. Spell Shield eats the arrow, so hold it for the one that would actually hurt. Ricochet the crash, take the plate, and never stand still while his stacks are on you.
