Proxy + kite — his early is weak, dodge his Q.
Track: Ornn's Q — Volcanic Rupture (9–7s cooldown). Wall-knockup setup. Keep moving.
Read from Singed's seat: which stage windows this plan plays for against Ornn.
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Singed | Ornn has near-zero early damage and no sustain — Poison Trail's magic damage runs through him freely before he can stack armor or proc Brittle. |
| Level 2 | Singed | His E Searing Charge is his only gap-close and its cooldown is long — without it he cannot stop your Fling-and-run pattern, giving you the initiative at level 2. |
| Level 3 | Even / skill | Mega Adhesive comes online and can root him if he tries to walk out of your poison, but his E Brittle-proc knockup answers your root — genuinely even skirmish territory. |
| Levels 4-5 | Even / skill | Both champions are farming and positioning: you proxy safely because he has no chase, but his W Bellows Breath is fully online and Brittle-procced trades hurt before you have Rylai's. |
| Level 6 | Ornn | Call of the Forge God's double knockup shuts off your run-at-them pattern entirely — a clean Ornn R combo can stun-lock and burst you faster than Insanity Potion's regen recovers. |
| First item | Even / skill | Rylai's Crystal Scepter makes Poison Trail a permanent slow on him — he is too immobile to escape the cloud, so the lane tips firmly your way even without a clean Fling. |
| Two+ items | Singed | At 2+ items you proxy and side-lane freely; Ornn's Masterwork upgrades help his team more than his 1v1, and he cannot catch you or stop your attrition split-push engine. |
At level 1 and 2, Ornn is one of the weakest laners in the game — no sustain, no mobility, and his W Bellows Breath costs health early on. Run Poison Trail directly through him: your magic damage bypasses his armor stacking and he cannot stop you without burning his E knockup cooldown. Stay away from walls entirely — his Q Volcanic Rupture creates a pillar that extends his knockup range, and getting caught against terrain before you have R turns a free attrition lane into a death sentence. Take the free CS, let him push, and never let him W-Brittle-proc you twice in a single trade or he stacks enough bonus damage to bully you back.
