How to win lane as Rumble against Yasuo · 51.57% win rate over 1,588 Emerald+ games · Updated 2026-07-27
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Even / skill | Wind Wall cannot block Flamespitter — use Level 1 to establish that you deal free damage to him in every trade and map the lane accordingly. |
| Level 2 | Rumble | Your EQ combo at Level 2 slows his dash cycle and forces him to eat Danger Zone Flamespitter — first real window to bank a meaningful HP lead. |
| Level 3 | Rumble | All three basics online: lead with first E to slow his Sweeping Blade approach, W-shield his knockup, then unload second E and Danger Zone Q — his gap-close becomes your punish. |
| Levels 4-5 | Even / skill | Freezing the wave near your side forces him to dash through open space into your cone rather than threading minion chains — control the freeze and you control his engagement options. |
| Level 6 | Rumble | Equalizer cannot be Wind Walled and punishes every post-knockup Last Breath position — drop it on his landing spot, not where he takes off from. |
| First item | Even / skill | Shadowflame or Luden's Tempest cements your burst and makes Equalizer genuinely lethal, but his Infinity Edge spike arrives around the same time — do not let him stack crits for free. |
| Two+ items | Yasuo | Full-crit Yasuo with Navori Quickblades blows through your W shield before you can re-enter Danger Zone — respect his all-in and rely on Equalizer zoning rather than trading evenly. |
At Level 1 you are solid but not yet in control — Yasuo can dash through minions with Sweeping Blade to keep his distance and avoid eating a full Flamespitter cone. The key interaction to know immediately: his W Wind Wall cannot block your Q Flamespitter because it is a cone, not a projectile. Your E Electro-Harpoon IS a projectile and he will Wind Wall it if he sees it coming, so bait the Wall down before you throw E or use it to interrupt his dash approach. At Level 2 you get your first real window: EQ-slow him into a Danger Zone Flamespitter and he has no answer that does not cost him significant health. By Level 3 with both E charges available, lead with the first harpoon to slow his dash cycle, force him to commit his Steel Tempest stack into your W shield, and then walk him down with the second harpoon while your Q deals sustained Danger Zone damage.
