| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Aatrox | Both of us are weak level-1 openers - he has only a single Q knockup and I just farm behind Granite Shield, so neither lands a real trade. |
| Level 2 | Aatrox | Still even at 2 - his Q poke is matched by my Seismic Shard chip and shield refresh, and he has no W setup yet to punish my overstep. |
| Level 3 | Aatrox | His level-3 spike owns this window: full sweetspot Q-Q-Q plus W chain-pull and passive heal let him drag me out and out-trade me before my armor comes online. |
| Levels 4-5 | Aatrox | Levels 4-5 stabilize as W Thunderclap and E attack-speed slow come up - Granite Shield plus early armor lets me farm through his AD pressure to a draw. |
| Level 6 | Malphite | Unstoppable Force evens the all-in - I knock-up cancels his Q wind-up or punishes his W chain-pull commit, so he can't safely open on me anymore. |
| First item | Malphite | Frozen Heart or Sunfire plus armor-scaling W and my E slow turn his autos and Q into chip while his passive heal can't out-sustain it - my favoured window. |
| Two+ items | Malphite | Two armor items make me a wall his drain bruiser kit can't kill - E slow and W splash out-trade his sweetspot Q in any extended melee he wants. |
Levels 1-2 are a wash because we're both weak openers - I have no trade pattern yet and just farm behind Granite Shield, and he only has one Q knockup that can't punish me hard. I poke with Seismic Shard when he steps up to last-hit and let the shield refresh between his pokes. Level 3 is his window, not mine: with all three Q sweetspots, the W chain-pull and his passive heal online he can pull me off the wave and out-trade me before my armor matters, so I never stand in W range and I dodge the outer ring of his Q knockups where the sweetspot heals him.
