How to win lane as Zilean against Braum · 54.23% win rate (2,801 Emerald+ games, lolalytics, sampled July 2026) · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
His engage meets a slow the size of a lane and a stun the size of a mistake — warp the chain backward.
Track: Braum's E — Unbreakable (16–8s cooldown). The shield wall eats your poke and engage projectiles — wait it out.
Read from Zilean's seat: which stage windows this plan plays for against Braum.
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Zilean | Level 1 you win: your bomb out-ranges Braum's short Winter's Bite and he has zero burst. |
| Level 2 | Zilean | Level 2 stays yours as double Q out-tempos his defensive kit before Concussive Blows comes online. |
| Level 3 | Even / skill | Level 3 evens out once his shield and passive stun threat let him hold his ground. |
| Levels 4-5 | Even / skill | Levels 4-5 are skill-decided as his peel offsets your poke in a grindy farm lane. |
| Level 6 | Even / skill | Level 6 is even: his Glacial Fissure peel is matched by your revive and Speed Up disengage. |
| First item | Even / skill | First item stays even as sturdier Braum still lacks kill pressure against your poke. |
| Two+ items | Zilean | With 2+ items you edge ahead as Chronoshift and double Speed Up outscale his single-target peel. |
Levels 1-2 are firmly yours. Braum's engage is a short-range Winter's Bite slow, and before he can chain Concussive Blows he has no burst, so your double Q bomb out-ranges and out-tempos him. Chip him and his ADC, shove the wave, and take the early lead while his kit is purely defensive. He has to reach melee for his stack count, so a double bomb on the approach ends the pattern outright. Put the speed-up on your carry so his count never finishes, and let the shared experience rather than an exchange be what compounds through the early levels.
