How to win lane as Yuumi against Thresh · 44.2% win rate (17,032 Emerald+ games, lolalytics, sampled July 2026) · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
The hook can't catch the attached — it catches the host; pick a host who respects that.
Track: Thresh's Q — Death Sentence (19–9s cooldown). The hook starts the lantern chain — dodge it and the playbook waits 19 seconds.
Read from Yuumi's seat: which stage windows this plan plays for against Thresh.
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Thresh | Thresh's level-1 Q hook plus Flay threatens a pick your kit can't answer, so he owns the opening. |
| Level 2 | Thresh | At 2 his hook-into-Flay reposition outguns your single reactive E dash, keeping him ahead. |
| Level 3 | Thresh | Level 3 gives Thresh all his tools online while you still lack any lockdown to trade back. |
| Levels 4-5 | Thresh | Through 4-5 his lantern and hook cooldowns out-utility your raw shielding in the coinflips he forces. |
| Level 6 | Thresh | At 6 The Box zones your disengage and converts his hooks to kills faster than R can heal. |
| First item | Thresh | On first item his pick pressure scales past your peel, so a landed Q still deletes your carry. |
| Two+ items | Thresh | With multiple items one hook-flay chain kills before Final Chapter matters, leaving Thresh favoured. |
Thresh out-threatens you at levels 1-3: his Q hook plus Flay can pick your ADC before your shields matter, and Yuumi brings no lockdown to punish him back. Play permanently attached to your carry so the hook has to target the tankier or more mobile target, and use E's movement speed to keep your ADC skittering out of hook lines. Only detach to land Q auto-poke or top up HP when you can see Thresh's Q is on cooldown. His chain is the only thing that catches you, so stay attached and never detach in lane. Keep the heal-speed for the moment the hook lands on your carry, aim the missile in the cooldown gaps, and hold the wave where the chain has further to travel.
