How to win lane as Soraka against Leona · 50.17% win rate (8,605 Emerald+ games, lolalytics, sampled July 2026) · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
Her engage hunts the banana — heal from max range and silence the chain mid-cast.
Track: Leona's E — Zenith Blade (12–6s cooldown). The blade root starts every Leona chain — stand behind minions while it is up.
Read from Soraka's seat: which stage windows this plan plays for against Leona.
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Even / skill | Level 1 is even because Leona has no poke and Soraka can out-space her with Starcall. |
| Level 2 | Even / skill | Level 2 stays skill-based as long as Soraka respects Leona's E-Q engage timing behind minions. |
| Level 3 | Even / skill | Level 3 remains a wash since Soraka's sustain refunds any chip while dodging Leona's engage. |
| Levels 4-5 | Even / skill | Through 4-5 careful spacing keeps the lane even because Leona still needs to land E to threaten. |
| Level 6 | Leona | Leona spikes at 6 as Solar Flare chains a full lockup burst Soraka's Wish cannot out-heal. |
| First item | Leona | On first item tank and Mandate items make Leona's engage a guaranteed kill setup. |
| Two+ items | Leona | With two-plus items Leona's lockchain deletes the ADC before Soraka's heals can matter. |
Levels 1-4 are skill-based. Leona is all-in with no poke, so if you hug your minions and out-space her with Starcall she can't land an E-Q engage, and your sustain slowly grinds her out. The danger is her level-2 timing and any bush she wards — respect fog, don't overstep for a Q, and keep your ADC behind you. Her chain is the only thing that reaches you, so keep the silence for the moment her dash lands. Land the star while it is unavailable to fund the heal, and hold the wave near your tower so the ground she has to cross gives you time to react.
