How to win lane as Morgana against Pyke · 49.25% win rate (7,451 Emerald+ games, lolalytics, sampled July 2026) · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
His hook meets a spellshield subscription — the catch class can't catch what's pre-answered.
Track: Pyke's Q — Bone Skewer (10–8s cooldown). The hook starts the chain — his R cleans what it catches.
Read from Morgana's seat: which stage windows this plan plays for against Pyke.
This is Morgana's own plan; across 7,451 pooled games the lane is leaning Pyke.
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Even / skill | Level 1 is even — neither of you has an engage tool online yet and it's about positioning. |
| Level 2 | Even / skill | Level 2 is a skill check: your W+Q versus his Q+E, decided by who commits first. |
| Level 3 | Even / skill | Level 3 stays even as both add utility but no ults and burst is symmetric. |
| Levels 4-5 | Morgana | By 4-5 your reactive Black Shield reliably eats his Bone Skewer stun, tilting trades your way. |
| Level 6 | Morgana | At 6 Soul Shackles plus a self-shield beats his execute-reset all-in. |
| First item | Morgana | With your first item the haste keeps Black Shield up for every hook, so you're favoured. |
| Two+ items | Morgana | Two items in, your CC reliability and shield uptime out-scale his squishy pick pattern. |
Levels 1-2 are a pure skill duel: if you pre-shield his Bone Skewer charge or his Phantom Undertow return-stun, his entire engage evaporates and he sits in grey health with nothing to show. Respect the level-2 power spike on both sides and keep your ADC behind minions so his Q has no clean line. Pre-shielding his charge or his dash turns the whole exchange, so hold it rather than spending it on chip. Pool the ground he wants to walk through, ward the flanks, and hunt the binding only in the beat after his hook has already been spent.
