How to win lane as Leona against Nami · 53.06% win rate (13,969 Emerald+ games, lolalytics, sampled July 2026) · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
Their shields delay the chain by one link — start it anyway; the sun doesn't negotiate with insurance.
Track: Nami's Q — Aqua Prison (12–8s cooldown). The bubble starts every Nami play — sidestep it and her kit is small numbers.
Read from Leona's seat: which stage windows this plan plays for against Nami.
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Nami | At level 1 Nami's Ebb and Flow heal-poke out-trades you before your E is online. |
| Level 2 | Even / skill | At 2 it's skill-dependent: your E+Q all-in beats her, but a landed Aqua Prison stops it. |
| Level 3 | Leona | At 3 your engage into stun kills a squishy enchanter who has no hard self-peel. |
| Levels 4-5 | Leona | Across 4-5 you dictate every trade because a landed Zenith Blade means a kill on her. |
| Level 6 | Leona | At 6 your Solar Flare locks her before she can disengage with Tidal Wave. |
| First item | Leona | First item, your CC still converts kills on the Nami faster than her sustain saves her. |
| Two+ items | Nami | Late, her heal-bounce and Tidal Wave disengage let her kite mistimed engages, swinging it back. |
At level 1 Nami edges you: her Ebb and Flow heal-poke bounce out-values your short trades before you have E, and her Aqua Prison threatens to stop any early step-up. But the lane flips the moment you hit 2 with E+Q online, and her only defense is a single bubble skillshot. Bait or dodge Aqua Prison and the level-2 all-in is heavily yours. Her heal-poke bounce out-values your short trades before your dash is levelled, so hold position and let your carry farm. Once you have the gap-close, the window is real. Keep Eclipse for her bubble rather than the chip, and take the fight from the brush rather than the open lane.
