How to win the jungle race as Skarner against Rek'Sai · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
Read from Skarner's seat: the race windows this plan plays for against Rek'Sai.
| Stage | Read | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 Clear | Respect Rek'Sai | Fury-fueled Q autos clear fast and win the first raptor fight, and Skarner has no clean answer to it at the first buff — an Unburrow knock-up from an unseen tunnel starts every fight on her terms. Ward her tunnel entrances — if you can't see the burrow line, don't walk the river, and give up your opening camps rather than the kill. |
| Level 2 Skirmish | Respect Rek'Sai | The window on the second camp belongs to Rek'Sai: the Unburrow knock-up gives a free engage on anyone walking their tunnels. Your own line is real — Seismic Bastion shield trades plus the boulder slow win short exchanges — but it arrives second here. Ward her tunnel entrances — if you can't see the burrow line, don't walk the river, then refuse the level-2 skirmish. |
| Level 3 Route | Respect Rek'Sai | At level 3 this window belongs to Rek'Sai: the full tunnel network plus knock-up means they dictate where every fight starts, and an Unburrow knock-up from an unseen tunnel starts every fight on her terms. Ward her tunnel entrances — if you can't see the burrow line, don't walk the river. Give up the level-3 river fight and bank tempo on the opposite side of the map. |
| Levels 4-5 Macro | Respect Rek'Sai — Path Opposite | You lose the 4-5 duel. He builds a tunnel network through 4-5 that lets him arrive in a lane from an unwarded direction — so let them have that half of the map and cash the other half faster. |
| Level 6 Breakpoint | Even Ult Window | Level six changes both of you at once: Impale drags whoever steps up into your team's kill box, while Void Rush executes anyone they have prey-marked. Stay above execute range — a marked duel at half HP is already over, and let the objective timer say when to commit. |
| First Item Spike | Heartsteel / Sunfire Aegis Spike | Completing Heartsteel or Sunfire Aegis gives you stacking health or a constant area burn that speeds up your clear and lets you out-brawl traditional fighters in extended fights. Rek'Sai's first item is a real jump in duel power, but it is also close to the end of her scaling curve. |
| 2+ Items Scaling | Skarner Favoured — Wins Late | The late game is yours. Remember what Rek'Sai still is at full build — he executes anything below the Void Rush threshold from across the map — and take the fights that do not let it matter. |
Start your clear at the Raptors or Wolves camp utilizing your Q boulder throws to maximize early AoE clear speed without a leash. Track Rek'Sai's own opening camp and route through vision and Tunnel entrances rather than lane sightings — she's jungling too, not laning — so you can path toward a brutal level 3 terrain-ignoring gank without walking into hers first. Rek'Sai clears fast on Fury-fuelled attacks and Furious Bite, and her tunnels make her map speed better than her clear suggests.
