How to win the jungle race as Jax against Udyr · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
Read from Jax's seat: the race windows this plan plays for against Udyr.
| Stage | Read | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 Clear | Danger — Avoid Udyr | Do not be seen at the first buff: Blazing Stampede's stun-lock into awakened stance damage runs you down in a straight line. On top of that, Blazing Stampede's stun plus Wingborne Storm shred wins any straight fight, so they get there first. Pre-position toward your tier-two side and dodge the first stun engage. Skip the level-1 crossing and farm the opposite quadrant until your spike lands. |
| Level 2 Skirmish | Danger — Avoid Udyr | Hard no-contest for Jax at level 2: Blazing Stampede's stun plus Wingborne Storm shred wins any straight fight, and Blazing Stampede's stun-lock into awakened stance damage runs you down in a straight line. Pre-position toward your tier-two side and dodge the first stun engage. Path opposite, ward your entrances, and let the clock carry you to your own spike. |
| Level 3 Route | Respect Udyr | Blazing Stampede's stun-lock into awakened stance damage runs you down in a straight line — Jax has no answer to that at level 3. Four stance points are online and their awakened trades hit their hardest window on their half of the map too, so give up the level-3 river fight and answer the pressure cross-map. |
| Levels 4-5 Macro | Even — Farm & Track | Even through 4-5. He farms 4-5 at speed and takes any fight near a wall, since Blazing Stampede needs only a straight line, so mirror it: farm the same tempo, ward the same crossings, and take the fight only with numbers. |
| Level 6 Breakpoint | Grandmaster-at-Arms Favoured | Grandmaster-at-Arms resists plus Counter Strike make the extended duel unloseable. Awakened Blazing Stampede chains stuns faster than your cooldowns recover — respect that one window, but the six-spike comparison favors you: take the post-6 duel whenever HP bars start even. |
| First Item Spike | Sundered Sky Spike | Your first fight item plus R turns you into the best one-item duelist in most lobbies — Udyr included. Invade openly, take every camp standoff, and dive chipped laners with E opening the tower's aggro window. Your clear also accelerates enough to full-clear and contest every spawning objective. Udyr's first item is where the awakened stance rotations stop being a heavy trade and start being a kill. |
| 2+ Items Scaling | Jax Favoured — Wins Late | From two items you out-scale Udyr. He is an awakened-stance brawler with sustain, damage and a stun on a short timer, but none of that beats your full build in a straight fight. |
Start the buff that paths you through raptors early — E's AoE stun makes the chaos camps trivial. Note Udyr's start side and plan a same-side full clear; you want farm, not level-2 coin flips. Udyr clears extremely fast with stance swaps and shields himself through it, so he is rarely below full health.
