How to win lane as Ziggs against Veigar · 54.12% win rate (2,417 Emerald+ games, lolalytics, sampled July 2026) · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
An APC artillery duel — bounce angles against his cadence; the satchel referees the dives both ways.
Track: Veigar's E — Event Horizon (Cage, 20–14s cooldown). Only the cage EDGE stuns — hold near the center or leave before it forms.
Read from Ziggs's seat: which stage windows this plan plays for against Veigar.
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Ziggs | Level 1 favours Ziggs as his quick Bouncing Bomb out-pokes Veigar's slow Baleful Strike. |
| Level 2 | Ziggs | Level 2 stays Ziggs's since he can deny Veigar's Q stacks and win the harass. |
| Level 3 | Ziggs | Level 3 is Ziggs-favoured: full kit lets him zone Veigar off farm and control the wave. |
| Levels 4-5 | Ziggs | At 4-5 Ziggs keeps starving Veigar's stacks before Veigar's combo comes online. |
| Level 6 | Even / skill | Level 6 is even because Veigar's cage-plus-R one-shots on a hit but Ziggs can Satchel out and out-poke. |
| First item | Veigar | On first item Veigar's AP spike makes a landed Event Horizon combo lethal, giving him the edge. |
| Two+ items | Ziggs | With two-plus items Ziggs's safe artillery range beats immobile Veigar who can't reach him. |
Levels 1-4 are yours: your Q is a faster, safer poke than Veigar's Baleful Strike, and you can deny the minion kills he needs to stack AP. Zone him with Q and E, keep him off farm, and make his scaling start behind. Your bomb is faster and safer than his, so deny the minions he needs to execute and take the wave outright. Short Fuse punishes his step-ups. Keep the satchel for his cage rather than your own push, because being stunned beside a stacked mage is the only real loss this lane holds.
